Hi, you've probably already noticed some pretty major changes to this website. As I'm developing this new structure for the website to better suit users, I've had to temporarily 'lock-out' most pages.
The 'Contact Us', 'Hall Hire' and 'Home' pages will work as normal, although the rest will be unavailable for a little while. Please bear with us as we make the first structural developments to the site in around 4 years. If you have any trouble in using the site, please use this special Contact Us page to let us know.
A group of former Scouts (now leaders, Explorers and friends of the group) are marking the anniversary of Malcolm Matthews joining the group with an all-day/night hike from Gordon Hall, via Ferny Crofts, to the Memorial stone at Brownsea Island.
Malcolm was an inspiration to all who knew him, and the Group thinks that he'd approve of the plan to raise money for his chosen charity (The Piam Brown Ward at Southampton General Hospital) by hiking across the South.
The hiking team will be joined by well-wishers on their journey for several legs, with the team having the added challenge of taking the Group's metal flagpole. They'll be stopping every hour, on the hour, to raise the pole and hoist the flag.
The stints you can join them for are:
You must contact the organiser to join us on any of these legs.
If you're interested in learning more, donating or joining them for a leg of the walk, contact the organiser through this Contact Page.
11 Cubs, 5 Scouts, 6 Explorers and a handful of leaders attended Itchen North District's annual camp at Lyon's Copse. Even though the weather was trying at times, everyone enjoyed themselves and we're both thankful to the organisers for their efforts and all attending for pitching in and making the camp a great success.
